I would like to welcome Detective Steven McDonald, who joins the M.A.N. foundation as a Trustee. Detective McDonald,
a member of the New York City Police Department, was shot while on duty and paralyzed from the neck down. His story of
forgiving his young assailant is told in Johann Christoph Arnolds book 'WHY FORGIVE?'
We welcome Steve and look forward to his support in our worldwide efforts to help mankind.

IONA COLLEGE PRESENTS HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE TO:
Noreen Von Zwehl
President and Founder of the M.A.N. Foundation

Noreen Von Zwehl founded the M.A.N. Foundation with the help of her husband, Joseph, and friends on October 1, 1993 following in the footsteps of the Von Zwehl's Catholic family tradition of deep involvement in charity work. Noreen had been involved for many years in serving the church and those in spiritual and material need locally, and in 1993 she committed to spreading her works globally; it was then that she founded the M.A.N. Foundation.

Mrs. Von Zwehl has supported numerous projects, from feeding the hungry in New York and Florida to constructing more than 20 churches, convents, schools and medical facilities in Vietnam, China and other poor nations. Through her foundation, over 400 rosary altar kits and more than 200,000 rosaries, as well as Bibles and other religious books, have been distributed to nursing homes and mission areas throughout the world, and shrines for prayer and worship have been built as close to us as Edmeston, New York and as far away as Mexico and Kenya. Seminarians are being supported to help meet the need for priests, as are teachers at the Binh Gia Lang School in Vietnam.

Noreen attended New York Community College in Brooklyn, as well as C. W. Post College on Long Island. She and her husband live in Muttontown, Long Island, and have six children and nine grandchildren.

On May 17th, 2003, Iona College conferred upon her the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa.
